About DK Pilates

 

Dawn Kent, a Stott Certified Pilates Instructor, trained since 2002. Stott Pilates is a world leader in the Pilates industry, chosen by professionals for it stringent qualification and training standards.  I am also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.

 

My training includes Stott Essential and Intermediate Mat and Reformer Certification, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Konnector, Oov, CoreAlign, Postural Restoration Institute (PRI).  My small equipment training included BOSU, Stability ball, Therabands, weighted toning balls, mini stability balls, Fitness Circle, and foam rollers.

 

Continual education is a primary focus for me, and it has been extensive and varied, including Injuries and Special Populations and Barre training. This knowledge has led me to work successfully with those requiring specialized training, including those with limited mobility and range of motion, prenatal, breast cancer rehab, athletic conditioning, scoliosis, and back care. For those with special circumstances, I can work with your physical therapist or doctor’s approval and consult.

I pay particular attention to details, creating individualized sessions to cater to the client’s needs and goals.  Using my 32-year experience in the fitness community and drive to stay on top of the latest research by the leaders in the rehabilitation community, keep fresh, and keep learning, I have considerable knowledge to help you achieve your optimum functional fitness.
