Virtual Classes via Zoom through DK Pilates Portal

Barre/Core

Pilates Body Barre is a fusion of pilates, light-resistance training, and ballet all choreographed to music. This 45-minute dynamic, full-body workout includes high repetition arm work and intense leg and glute sculpting work at your dining chair or counter top, followed by abdominal and core work on the mat. The result is an efficient, fat burning, posture enhancing, muscle carving, invigorating experience!

  • Recommended equipment: set of light dumbell weights (2 or 3 pounds), green theraband 5 feet long, Theraband door anchor, Eric Franklin 9″ blue inflatable ball

Standing Strong & Standing Strong Express

This class is designed with Pilates principles in mind to release overworked muscles and then fire up underworked muscles.  We will get in a full-body workout in 45 minutes both standing and matwork with various props.  SS Express is a 30-minute full body workout.  Whether you need to loosen up tight shoulders to better your posture or fire up those glutes and abdominals to help you feel strong and elongated, this class has got you covered!

  • Recommended equipment:  set of light dumbell weights (2 or 3 pounds), set of heavier dumbell weights (5, 8, or 10 pound).

 Release and Restore

Concentrations vary.  Concentrations will include: miracle ball & spikey ball, shoulder girdle mobility and stability, hip mobility and stability, happy feet.  See “workshops” page for more details.  45 minutes.

  • Recommended equipment:  set of Miracle Balls by Elaine Petrone (sold with book), soft 1 1/5″ mini balls from OPTP,  Pink full round 6″x 36″ soft foam roller from OPTP, yellow spikey massage ball from Balanced Body, 20″ inflatable TOGU ball from Balanced Body, set of two green Eric Franklin texture balls, Oov from Balanced Body, 3″ Yoga Block (not 4″).

Oov

The Oov activates core stabilizing muscles, so you feel strong from the inside out.  20-30 minutes.  You can purchase your Oov from Balanced Body.

  • Recommended equipment:  Oov from Balanced Body, set of light dumbell weights (1, 2, or 3 pounds), 5 foot green therabands, 9 inch blue Eric Franklin inflatable ball, Gymbandit set of mini bands loop bands 11-inch, small towel for a head pillow.

 Perfect Your Posture

This class is done standing upright.  Using a theraband or equivalent we will encourage proper spinal alignment while moving our arms in proper shoulder movement patterns.  When the shoulders, spine, and pelvis work together with specific breath and movement patterns, you get your best posture possible!  Hello core and ease of upright carriage! 20-30 minutes.

*  Recommended equipment:  5-foot yellow, red, or green theraband

 

Soft Roller Fascial Release

Fantastic Fascial Release!  I have found the soft roller to be the quickest tool to help ease back and hip discomfort.  Come join me for some fascia release on the soft roller. 20-30 minutes.

* Recommended equipment:  OPTP Pink Soft Foam Roller 6″ full round 36″ long and OPTP mini balls for foot warm up.

For those who are petite or have sensitive shoulders, the OPTP Blue Soft Foam Roller ** 3″ full round 36″ long might be more appropriate.

 

Core

Matwork for all levels.  I will give modifications for those with low bone density.  I also pay very close attention to get you set up with proper head, neck, shoulder, and thoracic alignment to minimize neck strain.  Approx 15 minutes.

* Recommended equipment:  Eric Franklin 9″ blue inflatable air ball, 5-foot green theraband, set of 2-5 pound weights (optional), mat or soft floor surface.

In Studio Classes

Mixed Equipment

This class is a Pilates playground!  We use all the equipment available — Konnector, Reformer, Tower, Jumpboard, Chair, CoreAlign, and Oov — in a circuit style class.  It’s an opportunity to work independently, with careful instruction and supervision, to experience all the equipment within the selected theme of each rotation, exploring circuit themes such as core, thoracic extension, balance, glutes on each piece of equipment.

 

Barre/Core

The result is an efficient, fat burning, posture enhancing, muscle carving, invigorating experience!

 

Gentle Pilates

Appropriate for participants with limited range of motion or limited mobility. Requires your doctor’s approval. This 45-minute class will combine floor-based exercises, emphasizing core strength, with arm-chair Pilates exercises.

 

Release and Restore

The Release and Restore Series of Workshops are intended to teach the participant how to get relief from their aches, pains, and discomfort. The participant will be empowered to help themselves feel better with take-home, do-it-yourself exercises using Pilates principles to restore proper biomechanics.

Current workshops offered: Low Back Level 1 and 2; Hips Level 1 and 2; Feet, Neck and Shoulders Level 1 and 2, Posture and Breath. See Release and Restore page for details.

 

Simply Core

A 25-minute class, either mat- or Pilates apparatus-based, emphasizing planks and straight-up abdominal and powerhouse training.

 

Simply Flexibility

A 25-minute class, Pilates apparatus-based, using the reformer spring resistance and pulley system  or using the cadillac spring and push-thru bar system, to achieve lasting flexibility.  The Balanced Body CoreAlign is also utilized in this class.  Terrific for athletes and those with chronic tight muscles.

 

Miracle Balls and Spikey Massage Balls

A relaxing, minimal movement class in which we use miracle balls and spikey massage balls to release muscle tension throughout the body. Appropriate for all levels. 45-minute class. You will be amazed how good you feel after using the miracle balls and spikey massage balls.

 

Class size is limited to 3-5 participants depending on class.
